The IV Geneva Convention determines a need to provide protection
to civilians. To this end, “encroachments on life and physical integrity,
in particular all types of murder, will be prohibited at all times and
everywhere”.
Article 147 of the IV Geneva Convention also states that intentional
killing is a serious offence.
According to the International humanitarian law certain
categories of population, such as women and children, should have
particular respect and protection. Children should get necessary
care and help.
